Based in Jacksonville, FL, Know Your Meds is led by Caren Hughes, a pharmacy consultant who works closely with patients and their doctors. She reviews medications, supplements, and over-the-counter products to help maximize their safety, effectiveness, and alignment with individual health goals. Caren helps patients navigate treatment choices, manage drug side effects, and simplify complex regimens through practical, collaborative care plans.

Caren Hughes, PharmD, BCOP
Caren Hughes is a board-certified oncology pharmacist (BCOP) with 19 years of experience as a Doctor of Pharmacy. She has worked at leading institutions including Mayo Clinic Florida and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she designed and implemented pharmacy consult services for patients and healthcare teams.
Through Know Your Meds, Caren provides expert medication guidance, working solely in the best interest of patients and in collaboration with their healthcare providers. She reviews prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, supplements, and pharmacogenomic results to help patients understand how drugs work, recognize drug interactions, minimize side effects, and improve overall quality of care. When not supporting patients Caren enjoys time with her husband, 2 beautiful daughters and grandkids. Her personal hobbies include swimming, piano and learning about other cultures.
Caren also partners with physicians, offering support that enhances patient adherence, identifies potential risks related to medication interactions, and reduces administrative burden. Her independent approach ensures that all guidance is based on knowledge, safety, and individualized care, not sales or prescriptions.
